Very disappointed in both the customer service and technical aspects of this company. After our HVAC unit started showing error messages on very hot days, we hired Hill-Air to troubleshoot and do a repair. Other than the intermittent error messages/lockouts, the unit was working fine. They recommended replacing a sensor, which they completed last week. Almost immediately after that repair, the unit stopped functioning normally. It would be set for 69 but running at 75. We have a newborn and it’s the middle of a heat advisory, so I contacted them to come back out and fix whatever had apparently gone wrong during the initial repair. The technician came back and said the unit needed cleaning and that was the only issue. I pointed out that the unit had been running fine at baseline before the repair, so it appeared to be a result of whatever had been done at the last appointment, at which point he became condescending and spoke over me, cutting off the conversation with no solution other than “it’s dirty.” I decided not to argue with him further and said I would contact the office. After being “fixed” by this company, my AC unit is working worse than it was before. EDIT: Had another company come and check and the issue was in fact NOT caused by the unit being dirty. It continues to be a sensor issue that was not addressed or fixed by Hill-Air despite them happily charging us hundreds of dollars. And let me be clear in response to their statement - I was not offered any cleaning for free. It was a full price cleaning. And again, this did not fix the issue. The issue is their shoddy and non-thorough work. Avoid for any complex HVAC jobs, they will not be able to help you and their customer service is a 0/10.
Always very happy with their service! We've been customers of Hill-Air for 35 years. The preventive maintenance plan is fantastic and Tyler has been out to our house the last 2 or 3 times. They installed our new Carrier furnace about 5 years ago and a EcoBee smart thermostat that I absolutely love! Our air conditioning unit is about 20 years old and the preventive maintenance has been keeping it running great a lot longer than we could have hoped. Despite the fact that it's still running great, Tyler can see that we won't be able to do that much longer; we'll be having them install our new Carrier air conditioning unit before next summer. Tyler is a great technician and always honest and trustworthy.
Top notch service. Tech was very knowledgeable and arrived as promise. Hill Air was our original installer when our home was built 25 years ago. We updated with them when we purchased our new Carrier HVAC. Highly recommended.
Our A/C stopped working on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. I called Hill-Air and the service tech was at my place in an hour. The unit needed additional work two days later and there was no extra charge for the second visit. More than fair and great people to work with!
I needed a complete system (Furnace & A/C). Hill-Air did an outstanding job from start to finish! Jeff & I discussed the options for my house and budget and then Rob & Steve arrived on time the morning of the installation. They worked tirelessly to get my system in & working, plus they took extra care to clean up and not track dirt in the house. The system has been working like a dream since the install back in January! Mark arrived yesterday for a preventative maintenance check on the A/C. He was on time, careful not to track in dirt, and he answered all of my questions about future maintenance. He explained everything that he was checking for and was really professional. I am very pleased that I decided to use Hill-Air for my heating and cooling needs. I would highly recommend them!!
