The guys showed up to install a new AC unit in the attic. Originally thought they would have to cut a larger hole, but were able to remove the house fan and go through there. They were awesome! Any mess they made was cleaned up as the only sign they were there was the new unit and thermostat. Highly recommend to have the crew at Schmidt Heating and Cooling for any HVAC needs!
I contacted Schmidt to do a diagnostic on our radiant floor heating system that was not working. I was told I had to pay for the service call and the "expert fee" to send someone to my house, which seemed fair considering this was not a typical job. The technician came to our house and was very knowledgeable about our system and said someone would follow up with me on further steps to take to get it working again and a quote for such services. That was back in December and I have since called them four times and have yet to have anyone return my call. Very frustrated I paid $120 to have an expert come to my house to tell me something I already knew and then the company make absolutely no effort to follow up as promised. Although I was happy with the technician's skill I still would not recommend this company. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I paid for a service and have been asking for a simple quote for four months and continue to get no response.
I was having a “loud sound” coming from my outside unit only when the temperature dropped below 30. My heat wasn’t kicking over to oil heat either. I called another place prior to Schmidt’s. They came out, spent a total of 15 minutes at my house, told me everything was running correctly, and charged me $207! Needless to say, I called Schmidt’s up yesterday, and Mark came out today, spent 2 1/2 hours, and was able to diagnose the problem(s). I need a new shroud and my timer for defrost was set on 90 minutes instead of 30. Mark was EXCELLENT. He explained everything, in detail, to me. He took the time to actually figure it out instead of just saying, “well, I don’t see anything amiss”. And the charge was DELIGHTFUL. I will be using them (Mark) from now on. If you want a place that will do you right, THIS IS THE PLACE. EXCELLENT JOB Schmidt’s!
Research the Better Business Bureau - Buyer beware. Left details through Schmidt's website. Set up a day and time range through email. After that, nothing. The day of, I checked email and thought I had not responded to a question on timing when in fact i had already responded - twice. Time was set for 10am to 2pm. Came and gone, then got an email saying "we have you down for tomorrow." Okay, one day wasted that I could have had someone address my issue. I emailed back, sounds good, what time? Again, nothing. No response. Have no idea if they are showing up or not. Update: No call was made until the second day (TODAY). It was one call, that was returned within 10 minutes. You've stiffed me one day. If you're stiffing me for a second day, you can owe me $120 in small claims court. You'll pay me $60 for stiffing me yesterday and you'll pay me $60 for the frustration caused today! Plus court and legal fees.
